Today we are going to start a series on Creation vs Evolution! Besides our normal weekly inspirational story, I will also be sending out another email or two each week on the Creation VS Evolution debate. I feel there is not a more important topic to cover than this for today's teens. Teens who have been taught an evolutionary theory that concludes that we are "accidents", that there is no meaning or purpose in life, and that we have no one to be accountable to when we die. If we can't trust the Bible, especially Genesis, than Christianity is a myth and we who call ourselves believers are just playing a worthless game... I am not asking you to agree with everything you will read in the future on this, but I am asking you to keep an open mind. Both Evolution and Creationism are theories. And both take lots of faith to believe in. I am hoping that in the next few months you will see that it takes a lot more faith to believe in evolution than most people think. If you have any questions on this important debate that you would like to see answered please email them to me at: Heart4Teens@aol.com I will collect them and answer them as the weeks and months go by. From my family to yours, P.S. Our church will be doing "The 40 Days of Purpose" starting the second week of September. If you have never read the book "The Purpose Driven Life" or participated in a 40 Days of Purpose campaign we would love to have you join us if you live in the Southern Wisconsin/Northern Illinois area. If you have ever asked the question "What On Earth Am I Here For" come join us and find out! Visit: http://www.FaithCommunityChurch.net/youth to find out more!

Can We Believe Everything We Read in Genesis?
A: There certainly are. The fact that Jesus quoted directly from Genesis on a number of occasions, treating it as real history, is a good reason to take Genesis literally. The Bible teaches that Jesus is the Truth and the Word; therefore, He's not going to lead us to believe something is true if it's only myth or allegory. For instance, in Matthew 24, Jesus referred to Genesis when reminding people about the story of Noah. He warned them that just as there had been a real judgment by a flood, so there'll be coming judgment. Obviously, Jesus treats the event of Noah's Flood as a real historical event. He accepted this flood account in Genesis as truth. Then in Matthew 19, Jesus Christ quoted directly from Genesis about the creation of Adam and Eve. He showed that the meaning of marriage is built on the literal events of Genesis. And in John 5, Jesus said that if you don't believe the writings of Moses, which included Genesis, then how could you believe His Words? He stated this because all the doctrine He taught was ultimately founded in Genesis. It's absolutely vital that we accept this book.
A: Certainly not! Most evolutionists believe in the big bang. They insist that billions of years ago, matter exploded and, as a result, the universe developed by chance, random processes. Eventually the sun formed, then a very hot earth. But as we've previously said, the Bible teaches that God made the earth first--before the sun, moon or stars! Also, the earth was covered with water when it was first formed--it wasn't a hot molten blob. We're also told that God didn't make the sun until the fourth day of Creation. So all of this is in great conflict with the big bang idea. There's no way a Christian can accept the big bang concept and add it to the Bible. But the Bible does talk about a 'Big Bang.' In 2 Peter, we're told that there's a time in the future when God will judge this earth with fire, when the elements will melt with fervent heat, and there will be a big noise. The evolutionists got it all wrong! The 'Big Bang' hasn't happened--it's on the way--as a judgment for man's sin.
